I know this is commenting on an old thread but maybe someone like me is reading. I really want to try the Edge but how on earth can Cambridge Audio Justify a 33% increase in cost? I know other manufactures have raised prices, this has happened across the board by 10 or even 20%, but 33%?
The Edge NQ is now £5000 from £3500
The Edge W is now £4000 from £2500
The Edge A is now £6000!!!!!
I am looking at other brands. Kinki Studio EX M1+ is only £2850 but compared soundwise to Hegel H390
You have amazing streamers like the Eversolo DMP -A6, and amazing DACs like the Gustard R26 and A26. You could buy both all of these and still have THOUSANDS left in your pocket over buying an Edge NQ and Edge W.
I love Cambridge Audio, I really do. I grew up with them and owned the 851N and 851W. Great amps, but they are way off the mark with their pricing on the Edge series I think.
