cambridge audio azur 540c v2 ???

Im looking for a cd player to put me on whilst i save some cash and upgrade my reciever which at the min is sony's 1200es. I've been looking through some of the reviews and the 'azur 540c v2' from cambridge audio seems a sensible option for the time being.

Another option would be to buy a PS3 for the use of blue ray or would the sound quality differ considerably?

The 640c v2 is much better than the 540, albeit for a 50 quid premium, and the Marantz CD6002 will also beat it for the same price. You may prefer the Cambridge's aesthetics though.

Any of the above will beat the PS3 for sound quality.

Richer Sounds or Superfi for the Marantz at 200 quid...........
