good morning ladies and gents,

as my name suggests iam new to this type of audio and gear. i have just obtained through a buddy a cambridge 740amp and a set of mezzo6s. iam just asking if anybody else has one and whats the story with the volume? is it the norm to have to out it up to -35dBs or 37 on normal display to get it just to comfortable listening levels? i have biwired and the speakers are great at high levels but is it the norm to have to drive the amp that hard? 100w output on it.have tried the other outputs its just the same.

anyone else have one of these amps and at what level do they have to put it at? my cousin has a 640A and it gives better volume at lower levels, maybe its just me. LOL

a million thanks

It doesn't matter, as long as it goes loud enough. Louder doesn't mean better. The volume setting will vary with the source and the sensitivity of the speakers.
