A friend has kindly given me his 540C but without a remote. A brief look at Richer Sounds and the CA site shows that these are not commonly sold. Anyone have an idea if I could replace it? On a different note lineout on a CDP is a lot louder than the 3.5mm from my iMac...

It is ages since I've played CDs like this, keep thinking that last.fm is missing out, but also nice to find things I've not yet ripped and play them too

I had a break in a few years ago and as well as my 42" panasonic they took every remote in the house.

Spoke to CA technical dept at the time and they sent me a new DVD89 remote for a tenner.

Give them a go.

thanks for that, hope you got things replaced, break ins are irritating and sad (been there)

Actually looking harder on the CA siteÿ

Finally got around to inquiring how much one of these was new, having missed out on one on ebay by a penny. A new remote for a 540c / 540A is 35 ppunds. So I'll be trawling ebay again....
