cabinet/shelf for hifi seperates

going to buy myself some entry level hi fi equipment soon, a stereo amp (something like cambridge a1/a5), cd player and bookshelf speakers with stands. just wondered how you would store the hi fi seperates? where can i buy a nice cabinet or should i just put up a shelf or use a desk/table?
