Finally decided to upgrade my old 28" Sony CRT and Sony DAVS-550 5.1 DVD cinema. Here's what I'm considering:-

Sony 40W4500 TV - £1,075 (inc 5 year warranty)

Sony S550 Blu-Ray Player - £221

Sony HT-IS100 5.1 Home Cinema Kit - £377

Humax Foxsat-HDR - already bought

£292

HDMI cables? Haven't a clue what to buy although I'd be keen to avoid anything above £35 (per cable).

I thought the HT-IS100 would be a decent enough system to handle audio as I'm on a tight budget and have limited space. I've seen Sony's new HTP-BD3iS bundle of the HT-IS100 and S350 but as far as I can tell that player doesn't decode DTS-HD master audio - correct? Any other suggestions? The list makes me look like a Sony fan boy

but I'm open to suggestions of anything that fits in that price range!

Cheers

hi,the sony is a superb tv.regarding hdmi cables you can buy qeds excellent hdmi-p lead for £18,yep your right about the sony s350 it has no onboard hd-dts and if your cinema system amp hasnt got onboard hd-dts the s550 is agood choice, also consider the panasonic bdp35 which has all the essential hd onboard decoding.

Thanks for the advice, I've gone with the QED cables as suggested which seem very reasonably priced
