Hello,

Im looking at The cambridge Audio SX50s and a Amptastic Mini 1 to connect to my TV (LG 32LB580V)

Would that be a better combo than just getting some Active speakers like the Creative T40s series II

I have up to £250 to spend.

The amp would need to be a compact unit (Half width to fit under the TV)

Any recommendations or advice?

Thanks,

Michael

Go on peter tysons online,

Have a look at the Q Acoustic BT3 Active speakers, £209 so well within budget, big sound 3 different colours, Apt X bluetooth connection, subwoofer output, optical connection and sound brilliant, loud and crisp. Have a trip down to John lewis or somewhere near you that sells BT3 and ask for a demo maybe even see if they will price match.

All in all its up to you really! but thats just a suggestion!

And a very good one too.

Problem with TV is that the output is often fixed, be it digital or analogue. If, this is not the case, then there are plenty of good, pro style monitors that will do a better job than the Q Acoustics.
