Bookshelf and Subwoofer Combination for Denon D-M39DAB

Hi Guys,

I am looking to purchase a Denon D-M39DAB micro system soon and would like some recommendations for a bookshelf and subwoofer combination and also the cables to get the best out of them.

Probably not many got the DM39 yet, it's pretty new as a replacement for the DM38. Didn't bother with subwoofer when I had the 38 model, it sounded pretty good with MA BR1s attached to it. BR1s not available now (maybe on ebay) so I should think it would sound just fine with BX1s, BX2s, Diamond 9s, etc

I was thinking of getting this package from Superfi, but unfortunately looks like the the last of the Diamond 9.1's are now gone, I was thinking of getting the Wharfedale 10.1's instead to go with the SW150 sub and Denon?.

I've found that most cheap subwoofers sound boomy and don't integrate with speakers very well. Unless you're willing to spend quite a bit more money on a good quality subwoofer then my advice would be to get the best stereo speakers that you can afford and forget about using a subwoofer.

...unless of course you're wanting to use it with movies as well as music in which case a cheap sub may still be a good idea.
