Just an Addition to the above. My exposure cd player and Benchmark dac both have BNC connections. Should I get a BNC to BNC lead or carry on?

I'm using a chord coaxial digital lead with an adaptor each end.

In an ideal world, you would use BNC - S/PDIF implementation assumes a 75ohm transmission line, and RCA is not 75ohm.

You don't need any brand name cable, good quality RG59 is ideal.

Worth noting that unless your DAC is sensitive to input jitter, it is very unlikely that you will notice any difference between RCA and BNC.
