Bluray vs HDDVD

Bluray is obviously winning the HD war but why are great movies such as American Gangster still exclusive to HD DVD?? Bluray is getting titles such as "Shoot Em Up" which in my opinion wasnt very good whereas HD DVD has got "The Kingdom" and like i said above will soon be getting American Gangster and also films such as "I Am Legend" will be released on both formats. Which format should one opt for?

If you want hi definition forget about upscaling. Also forget about investing in HD-DVD at this stage. Your safest bet is Blu Ray. American Gangster should be available on BD by the end of the year. By all accounts the HD-DVD version is no great shakes.

American Gangster is a Universal title, and is therefore HD DVD only (for now) - this situation won't be around for long. I'm with the buy/rent on DVD and upscale and watch in HD later.

HD DVD really doesn't seem to be long for this world... Unless you're after a bargain DVD upscaler with an eye to buying Blu-ray later, there's no real justification to buy an HD DVD player right now.
