I'm sure this will have been covered, but I'm sure someone can give me a quick answer anyway: I just purchased a Blu Ray player (Sony BDP-S550), and it's connected to the HD input on my three-year old Sony KDL-V32A12U (to be replaced early next year). Setting the video to "auto" gives 1080i resolution, but would I in fact be better off setting it manually for 720p? Or is that handled automatically by the player to give the best picture anyway?

Thanks!

Hi
I don't think you'd notice much difference on a 32" screen between 720p and 1080i so i'd probably set it to 720p. This would be better for fast motion i would imagine. Failing that, trial and error i guess. Good luck!

Thanks for the quick responses! I realise that on my screen differences will be incremental, to say the least. Now, anybody want a 3-year old 32" Sony LCD, lovely condition, one careful owner...
