As we know Blu-Ray Profile v2.0 players have an Internet connection.
I know that the connection periodically checks the player manufacturer's web site (in my case Sony) to check for software updates.
And also, apparently on some BD Disks it checks the film producer's web site to give you access to "extended features" (whatever that may be); but none of the disks in my limited BD library actually do this...
Does anyone know if the Internet connection does anything else? Does it upload information about viewing statistics to the film producer? Is big brother watching us?
Also what kind of security is provided? And how long will it be before our BD players first get infected by virus or worms?
