Is it possible to have these too tight?

I have my Quad speakers connected to my amp via banana plugs, and the original jumper bar to the hf section of the speaker.

I've noticed that the lf section isn't audible (ie sounds like one speaker is much louder than the other) unless i 'wiggle' the banana plug.

I've swapped connections to check it's not the actual banana plug, and it isn't, the problem remains on the same post on the same speaker.

If i losen the screw on the binding post slightly then the speaker seems to operate as mormal.

Is this indicative of another problem? or is it possible to have the screws too tight?

cheers

It may well be highlighting a loose connection, especially if the other speaker has similar tightness and has no problem.

On another note, you should hear a worthwhile improvement, if you replace those "jumper bars" with decent "jumper cable" (can be made from existing cable).
