Best virtual systems - up to about £500

If you were buying / recommending to frinds, what system would you build at the budget abd why? Nominations, rationale and PICTURES please.

I would buy my system, or happily recommend it to others-

The Marantz MCR603 with Dali Zenzor 1 speakers are only £550.

You could probably get a bit more clarity by using some Behringer B2030A monitors with a cheap DAC/pre but I'd still prefer the Marantz/Dali setup though.

Speakers: any of following depending on what can be found and what suits your rooms size...

Mission 751 (this will come well under budget in which case might change source for streamer/dac, but then need for NAS might go over budget - close though!)

Acoustic Energy AE109 (should also be well under budget, again might look at streamer/dac instead of cdp)

Mission 752 (should still be under budget, again might look at streamer/dac instead of cdp)

Mission 753 (should be about on budget, keep the cdp)

Should leave enough over for semi decent interconnects/cables and a brand spanking new copy of Slayer's classic "Reign in Blood". I'd be very happy with any of the speakers here, but I'd def be aiming for the 753s.
