Best upgrade for ipad sound

Hi

I have recently bought an ipad and am looking for the best upgrade for sound quality, im currently just using a 'that cable' 3.5mm to phone cable in to my Denon 2310 reciever.

I have montitor audio radius r 270's and a rel stampede sub.

i also have some Epoz aktimate mini speakers and am considering buying and arcam R dac from my friwnd who is selling this for £200, the plan would be then to get a cambridge audio ipad dock to take a digital signal from this.

Is this the best way of spening around £300 to get the best sound upgrade or is there anything I can do to use the Denon / Ma set up?

I would buy an airport express and connect to your av amp directly with an optical cable. That way you can use AirPlay wirelessly with your amp direct to your amps dac. You can then upgrade to the rdac afterwards if you still want too.

I just was not sure about how much quality is lossed via airplay?

Sure you can use the atv2 if you want the extra features. I noticed a significant performance Increase using AirPlay with my av receiver over a cable.
