Hi, I want to upgrade my Teac Legacy 800 receiver but don't know how much to spend. I want to get something that will provide a noticable step up in audio quality but I have no need for HDMI, HD Audio, any video upscaling etc as I have a CRT with no plans to change. Budget wise I'm flexible, I could stretch to £800. Its very hard to get any dealer to set up a listening room for small sums these days so any recommendations? I'd rather put the £ towards audio quality than future proofing with video features. Thanks, Mike

Your best bet is probably an Arcam DiVA AVR250, which has just been replaced by the AVR280, You can find a few of them still around for £600 or less with a spot of Googlage. At that price it's a great no-frills buy.
