id go for the Denon 1940 for about 149,99 at most places

I'm getting battered by the notion that the Oppo's are far and away the best decks for the money by my roommate. (he's no small force in all things video) Is he onto something there??

I paid £200 for my 1940 and it was £250 elsewhere at the time. It's brilliant. For £150, I would be flabbergasted if it could be beaten.

The OPPO DV-980H does look like a really good player having scoured the net for reviews. I'm particularly impressed by its slender form factor. Problem is that UK stock seems to be scarce. I think you can get it through Amazon.

I can only buy it from oppodigital.com here. the faroudja hardware is supposedly nightmareishly good at upscaling, would I see a difference if I played it next to the denon or equivalent marantz??
