best budget 37in-42in

hi people,

im looking to buy a very cheap but hopefully good tv for the girlfriends place,she has at the mo some sort of normende 20in crt and its causing friction between us 🙂 so the only solution is a nice big screen tv, well i know all about pioneer and panasonics great tvs,i have last years panasonic 37in plasma but i want to know what is the best really low budget tv on the market in the 37in-42in size. i guess im looking to spend up to 400quid ,is this too low am i being unrealistic?? whats your view please?

All depends on what you want to use it for, really. If it's just standard TV and maybe DVDs, you could get a 2006-2007 vintage 37-42in HD Ready set without 24fps/1080p support for around or just about that money - i'm thinking maybe one of the Toshiba or Samsung sets that were decent budget buys in their day.

Trouble is, flatscreen TV quality has moved on so much in the past few years: chances are you're not going to end up with something you're happy with - especially as you're used to watching the exceptional Panasonic TH37PX70 at home.ÿ
