BDP-S4100 to DA1200ES audio issues

I have just purchased a BDP-S4100 blu-ray player and when I have connected it via HDMI to my Sony DA1200-ES receiver it plays video through my projector but no audio. I had the same problem with my PS3 and my BDP-S360. They all work fine through my TV so I maybe missing something. Any suggestions would be much appreciated

youve tried the audio output settings on the BRP? make sure its not set to optical.

Thanks for the quick reply, I have just checked the audio settings and they are fine, just got an old stereo cable and connected the through both the HDMI and co-axel and now have both sound and visuals. Just can't work out why I need both. Cheers Nep
