banana plugs or bare wire which is best

Doesn't make any odds - banana plugs are neater, remove the chance of stray wires causing shorts and reduce the oxidation of the conductors in the cable, but clean bare wire connections made with care are just as good.

thanks andrew i do clean the wires from time to time and im very happy with the sound
