My MILTY gold plated plugs are clearly too long. Is there anything essentially wrong or hazardous about this situation though? Should I bother rewiring them with some shorter plugs?

OMG - I'm just waiting for somebody to post that you need exactly a 3mm gap between plastic plug cover and socket to get a decent soundstage.

No, it's that you need the same size gap at both the amp and speaker ends. As these are clearly different it's gonna be all out of whack >)

Think logically.

If you used bare-wire ends you would unscrew the plastic bits and stuff the bare wire into the holes. There would be a gap of a similar size at the base end and a load of wire wrapped around it.

Yours looks neat. Yes there is a gap. But so what? Calling it untidy is a bit silly too, as these gaps aren't even in sight!

Worry...ye...not...

Sorry frog you think me 'silly' !

My comment was "many are too long. bad/dangerous nah. tad untidy? maybe. enjoy yr system". Perfectly reasonable I feel!

useful too?

And the rear of one of my speakers IS visible so I prefer a tidy look. I detect a tidyist predudice.
