i would like to see a tv show produced solely for all things hifi
and av even lossless computer music, with blind tests conducted, as some hi end stuff costs as much as
a new car or even in some cases a house, the program could cover tests
in small medium and large rooms, also as you can now recieve broadcasts in 5.1
and stereo it would be interesting to evalueate in both of these,,
well would you like and watch such a program if it was on tv..
it could be paid by advertising by hiif av computer and the music industry.
but maybe the hifi magazines would not like this what do you think good idea or bad idea..

My thoughts are that this would not work well since the main point of AV and HiFi are sound and that does not translate via television. How can the home viewer know what a amp or speaker sounds like?

If you did have a show like this, it would have to focus mostly on Home Theater and only have a small segment on HiFi since HiFi is a much smaller demographic.

I wonder if there is enough product to make this interesting or would you run out of material?

Not sure about that, but you've just given us an idea for a phone-in service where you can call up and listen to different pieces of equipment before you buy...

Don't tell people what they are listening to and then it will be a blind test.

no andrew if its phone music you want try a mobile much better imo, but then i never said to use tv as a guide to
buy anything,,, only to use as a guide as the hifi press always say go and listen before you buy
just think andrew you could be on tv as hifi guru on any such show or even the presenter,,

dvdaudio:then i never said to use tv as a guide to buy anything,,, only to use as a guide

Huh???

dvdaudio:just think andrew you could be on tv as hifi guru on any such show or even the presenter

...And this would be desirable how?

No disrespect, but Suzi Perry does have her merits...

My point exactly - unfortunately explaining technology isn't among them.

I'm not sure I could do that 'I'm at an age where my pension provision is a real concern but I can still behave like a lovable Stuff scamp and I say "awethome" a lot while falling off a skateboard/scooter/cliff just to prove how down with the kids I am' any more...
