Hi all,

After 3-4 years without my home cinema, ive finally settle in a new home so i've started dusting off old kit that i had in storage. Since i got my tv on ebay at the moment i need to move on and talk about my amp.

I have a pioneer Vsa-E07 THX AV amp which at the time it was a flagship player with all the trimmings. The remote alone cost £300 officially!.

So since im buying a new plasma HD tv, i need to think do i keep or sell?

I've never routed video through it as i prefer a purer direct connection. So do i need to worry about lack of hdmi connections?

and will the "standard" dts/dolby digital decoder compare with todays players. im not getting a Blue ray player just yet so no dts master audio needed...i suppose my question is how does a £1200 av amp from 10+ years ago compare to today's kit.

I dont think ill keep my really old TDL's 2 thou. i was thinking of the Q Acoustics 2000 series together with my E-07.

Many thanks for the replies to my 1st post, nice to be in a forum were people communicate!

Al,

No need to upgrade whatsoever. And the E07 has a 5.1-channel analogue in, so no need to upgrade even if you do buy a Blu-ray player, provided you choose one with onboard decoding and multichannel analogue outputs.
