I recently purchased a Panasonic TX37S10B TV at a localstore. I am thrilled with the picture and sound qualities of this TV but I haveone minor quibble.

In my area we onlyhave satellite reception so I have sky. Every time I switch the TV on itsearches for the non existent freeview channels and I end up with a screensaying no channels found meaning that I have to press the AV button on theremote every time to watch Sky.

I enquired at the store where I purchased theTV and they told me automatic switching through the scart connection will notwork until the TV finds and saves at least one freeview channel. As we along with most people in our area don’t evenhave an TV Ariel this is not possible. Is there perhaps some sort of workaround for this problem.

Have you tried pressing the TV button so that it goes from DVB to analogue mode. Then next time you start up, it should start in analogue mode. It won't then search for freeview/DVB channels.

Thats a bit of a quandry - it's the assumption that everyone has TV reception even though we all know it not to be true. When you say you have no reception, do you not get anything at all or does it mean that it's so bad it's not worth using?. It may be possible to just plug an aerial in and see if it finds at least one channel. Failing that, could you take it elsewhere (back to the shop perhaps), tune it, then bring it home again. Bit of a faff I know but going into auto setup every time you turn it on would drive me insane after a very short while!

Good luck with it
