I'm having problems with audio sync on programmes I have recorded on my Sky + HD box. Some programmes are ok but in others, the audio track is horribly delayed. I don't have this problem with programmes recorded in SD. Is it my Sky box or AV connections? Any thoughts most welcome!

Do a search in the forums and you'll find a few threads.

Try setting audio delay to 20ms initially

. Do you have an AV system or just through the PC speakers?

I ended up with a new box from Sky at nil charge after trying lots of tips to no effect.

Thanks guys. I've got an av system. Denon amp. Just watched Injustice recordings on ITV HD. No problem at all. But an ITV HD documentary recording was all over the place! IT drives me mad!! Tried different delay settings to no avail. Stopping the playback and starting it from that point sometimes works, but not always. Very very annoying! My Sky box is connected to the TV by HDMI. audio connections are digital

All sorted now. Combed through the small print on the Sky website and discovered they suggest a software download for your box if the usual suggestions don't work. It's supposed to take "up to 10 minutes". Mine took 15, but it seems to have solved the problem. For now, anyway!

Fingers crossed for you then.

What was the software download and how did you do it by the way?

I got the instructions from the Sky website. Basically, you put the box into standby and press and hold the back-up button until an image comes up on your TV screen telling you the download is about to start and could take up to 10 minutes. As I say, mine took 15. At the end of this process, the box automatically goes back into standby. You have to wait for at least four minutes, and then switch on again as normal. And, hey presto, the problem should be resolved! I still get the odd problem, but stopping whatever recorded programme I'm watching so it goes back to real time TV and then pressing "play" again normally fixes it. Hope this helps!!
