Arcam(old) 3 channel amp speaker question.

Im going to start using an old arcam Xeta 2 sound processer, which has pre outs for 2 fronts (via my hi fi) and itself will power a centre, the 2 rears, and also will feed an active subwoofer.

Now bearing in mind my system as sig, my speakers at the moment are an old pair of castle severns, so the problem im having is choosing a centre and 2 rears to hook up, e.g as castle have long gone.

I do like a pair of splendor speakers that are 1400 pound but not in a position to get them at the moment. I just want to buy a centre and 2 rears but i feel like everything has got to be based around my main speakers!!!!

As im using floorstanders for fronts could i get away with satalite speakers for rears?

Yes, you could get away with using smaller speakers on the rear channels, but I'd suggest looking out for a matching centre speaker to go with the Severns - something like this Keep on Ebay would be a good bet.
