Apple TV Remote

Right, I've lost my little white remote control. I can use my iPod Touch to browse music, but can't control the @TV to navigate through its other menus. I have Front Remote which allows me to do it with my Mac but not as far as I can tell the @TV. I downloaded Rowmote but it needs me to install something on the @TV which I want to avoid (primarily because initial attempts to even download the helper are stalling).

Are there any other options from the app store which just act like the little white remote on an iPod Touch and don't need me to install anything on the @TV?

Thanks, but am kind of trying to avoid buying one since they're outrageously expensive for what they are and as soon as I do, I'll find the two I own. Tried borrowing the neighbour's but she'd lost hers to - if I could do that, I'd upgrade to version 3.0 of the @TV software and then the iPod Touch would work.

And I could have done with one tonight to watch something since have loan of a big FO telly. Seems I'm SOL...
