Apple TV 2 Dac to Rega Brio

Im running my apple tv into a rega brio and set of in wall focals. is there any point on adding a dac from apple tv into my rega direct. will it make a difference

Im thinking of the micromega mydac which i can pick up for a nice price. This is my only audio I have now ive down graded for the time being

You'll need a DAC in any event, won't you, as the ATV only has digital out, and the Brio analogue in? At one time I used a CYP £25 DAC (AU3) and the worked a treat.

Indeed! It's the Airport Express that has both analogue & digital outs.

right now im going from HDMI into my sony via rca to my rega, ya i know not to long ago i had proac d28's and pre power parasound system lol

so am I on the right track here guys will this dac make a difference when im steaming tunes from my imac

OK - with you now. My panasonic plasma has a half way decent DAC feeding its analogue outputs so whether or not an external one will better it depends on how much you are willing to spend. You will need a DAC with one or more optical inputs such as the Beresford Bushmaster - I'd guess at a big upgrade to SQ.

im sure my sony tv in the Z series is okay but wouldnt be near as good as this micromega dac for streaming
