Amazons new service lets you download digital copies of your Vinyl or cds before they arrive and its being backdated.

Its also a free service buit only applies to Amazon store not 3rd parties.

excellent......thanks for the heads up

Gonna Download........

Clint Mansell - Moon OST

Duffy - Rockferry

Daft Punk - Tron OST

Have tried this already. Few things I've bought aren't on there but looks decent for putting on my phone.

Just checked and I've got 34 albums in my cloud account now, not sure how that compares to the total number I've bought from Amazon, if I get a moment I might check. Also realised it includes some I gave as gifts, that's pretty cool.

"We're adding songs from your past Autorip album purchases ....."

It's taking a long long long long time..... should be interesting to see how many it ends up with ....

And the final tally is : 291 albums, 5796 songs. I've bought loads more than that from Amazon over the years, but not bad for a free service.

:cheer:

1200 tunes available to me....some which I have never heard of before and not purchased!

Anyone else found this?

A a long term, heavy(ish) Amazon user I think this autorip service is excellent. Most pleasantly surprised.

I guess it depends how much material you've bought via Amazon. In my case that's probably about three albums, so not enough to shake my world. I remain better off with iTunes Match, if only they'd properly de-bug the ----ing thng. But if you've bought a lot of albums via Amazon, different story I guess.

I don't want low quality MP3 versions of CD purchases from Amazon that I have already ripped in ALAC (or 320k AAC VBR).

However, probably excellent for someone who has lost part (or all) of their CD collection over the years and doesn't mind the lower quality of Amazon's MP3s.

right now my cd player and amp are being modified/upgraded so the laptop is the only source of tunes and this find is most welcome.

I agree,

but if you have purchased on vinyl at least you have a back up of the songs on a reasonable source if you burn back to cd.

No point in paying twice to get the convenience of CD for other area of the house or other where a TT is not available.
