im in the market for an Ion turntable from amazon priced at £80. are these recommended for sound quality and i'm looking to convert LP to digital, would the quality suffer on conversion compared with a high end turntable or are conversions all the same in regards to quality regardless of deck being used? any recommendations for the best all in one turntable on the market?

Denon do a USB turntable at £150, Sony at £120 would be my first two choices. ION Pure turntable is £60.

The quality of the deck makes all the difference when recording LPs to a computer. Garbage in -> garbage out.

The trouble with the elcheapo USB decks is that the arm and the cartridge are not very good at all. They can't be at that price. You will need to at least double your budget.

This Denon seems to have a relatively decent cartridge.

I don't think there are any manufacturers that produce decent all in one systems like Dual used to make them in the 1970's and 1980's. My first stereo was a little Dual system: record player with built-in amplifier and two speakers.

thanks for your reply although i don't think it has built in speakers? I wouldn't in that case spending up to £500 on a All In One Record Player but it seems the most expensive is around £150 which i guess would not be that good.
