I have recently heard vinyl through a very hi end kit, up until this moment I was happy with my kit. I now get it!

I know why those who are into vinyl get so precious about it. I also know why it is hard to describe why the sound is different but much smoother.

So my quesiton is if I have a budget of say £500 what turntable would you recommend and where are the best places to buy this wonderful new invention call vinyl[:$]

I will obviosuly audition but it would be good to get a start.

regards

MP has hit the nail on the head. The Rega is a bit of a bargain.

Don't no about the Rega but the Pro-Ject RPM 5 or 5.2 is a great table. I had one for a few years and had some great times with it.
It's good straight from the box but if you add a speed box and put a Rondo cart on it and it really is a great table.

Check out what that £500 might get you secondhand too by the way.
