Hi everyone! I just got myself a well good Home Cinema System and was hoping some of you could tell me what Bluray player would work best with my current system?

I currently have;

A Pioneer AV Amplifier SC-LX82

The B&W 683 Speaker Package with a PV1 Sub.

I have a Panasonic Viera 50" 1080p TV 600hz

I am really into my movies and I want the perfect Home Cinema Experience, so I'd appreciate it if some of you guys here could tell me about the leading Bluray players and what you think of them.

Many Thanks.

Have you had a chance to demo any blu-ray players? If not, as a starting point I'd look at the Sony S760 and see what you think.

Nope, I've only tried my 80gb PS3 so far? I will have a look at the Sony S760, Thanks! 😀

I have a S760 and it's a fantastic BD player at a bargain price of £300, DVD playback is fine tho not as good as my Denon DVD3930 nor is CD playback which to me did not matter as I wanted the S760 purely for BD duties.

MichaelJ:Anything up to 1200? 😀

The obvious answer would be the Pioneer LX-52, multi-channel PQLS when used with your amp, one remote operation and well within your budget.

Speaking of budget if you can push it a little the LX91 can be had for £1600, the PQLS is only for stereo though, not multi-channel (the 91 is an older model but it's still the Pioneer flagship, for now) but WHF reckon it's one of the best BDP's on the market.

id get an oppo bdp83 , the choice of many a videophile , you would probably have to import one from the u.s. , about £550 i think , ive read many reviews , and the oppo tops a good lot of tech sites lists for bluray ...

I'd get an S760 for now, and save the rest of your money towards a full 3D upgrade in a couple of years time.
