ADL GT40 as a Preamp?

I have a Linn LP12, but currently no analogue input into the pre/power amp (Naim DAC-V1/NAP200). I am interested in an ADL GT40 to digitise my LPs, but also to use as a preamp feeding directly into the Naim NAP200 so I can utilise the Linn with the HiFi again. I know I would have to change the connections to the power amp between the DAC-V1 and the GT40. I have read that the GT40 will act as a Preamp provided the power amp has sufficient gain. Anyone any experience with the GT40 as a preamp and how much gain would be needed?

I have no experience with these but I would suggest there would be no forseeable problems and you do not have many more options in this price range if this is what you intend it to do.
