Active 2.1 speaker system that is good for music

Hi

I want to to get a 2.1 active system to hook up to my tv/tivo and apple tv-itunes. Thinking of Jamo or Boston Acoustics but want to make sure that it isn't too bass heavy. I am concerned that a separate subwoofer is going to be too boomy when listening to music at a normal lowish level i.e. background music.

Has anyone got a similar system or set-up and recommend a system?

I used AVI ADM9.1T with matching subwoofer as a 2.1 system for music (iTunes/Spotify) and films. I think it represents very good value indeed. Dynaudio also do small actives and subs so would offer an alternative investigation route. Finally there's the pro audio kit. Massive field, varying prices and performance and often more industrial looks. Depending on time and location you could Google for some pro audio dealers and take a trip to get some more ideas.
