I noticed that there is a big difference in price between a 50 hz tv and a 100hz tv.
At 26 inch there is practically no difference, but at 32 inch?
Currently i'm still waiting for the new line of tv's to come out, i want either a plasma tv or a LED tv.
At 32 Inches there is no plasma, but there are LED tv's at that diagonal. At 37 inches there are a few plasmas,
so i hope (Panasonic) there will be a few more in 2010 so i can choose between a 32 inch LED or a 37 inch Plasma.

Any insight is welcome.

LED, LCD, or plasma, I would look at 37" before 32.

Mine is a bedroom set-up (and a pretty small room at that) and although I really wanted a 37", after much deliberation I came to the conclusion that it would be too "overbearing" for the size of the room and decided on my current 32".

Now don't get me wrong, I have NO complaints whatsoever with the TV, but it just lacks that extra bit of "immersiveness" which a 37" would bring. Don't regret my decision and love the TV, but there is just a little bit of "if only" in there!

I got a 37" LCD and sit about 2.2m away from it - just right!

I also considered a 32 but did not have the wow factor, a bigger screen is nice!

So if you can squeeze out the extra space go for it.

The 50hz vs 100hz - well don't get too caught up in it - I have a 37" full HD 50hz and it's just fine - have experienced no motion issues at all.

I would say take a couple of your favourite discs and test at your dealer.

Thank you for your reply, i have a fairly big room in which i would place my tv.
LED Tv's bring the deep black and the fullest of colours to the screen, just like Plasma always did,
so it has to come down to Plasma or LED. But a 37 inch LED is very expensive. A 37 Inch Plasma is not.
I do want a 37 inch LED, but i have to stick to my budget, if i really want a 37 inch tv it has to be a Plasma tv.

Can anyone tell me whether the prices of LED tv's will come down to affordable levels in th near future?
And, besides that, what do you think about the prices of tv's in general, with the football in South Africa coming up,
will the stores decide to up their prices or drop the prices? i think they will up the prices to earn more money, because people will buy a lot of tv's, it was the case with the european championships two years ago and now i think it will accur to.

From what i can recall Tv's where reduced leading upto the last World Cup, but they where alot higher in price back then. I think leading upto Christmas showed that there where some bargains around and January sales where now December sales. I expect prices to rise come the end of January, even now there not as great as before Christmas for example Very.com where selling the Panasonic 46g10 for £699 half rrp and it's £1099 now, cheapest ive seen now is at Dixons for £749, when thats gone expect to pay £899 or more. We don't know what future prices or new models are coming, but imo buy now if you want it soon or closer to the World Cup.

If I were in the UK I'd also consider a 37" plasma, and anyway there are extremely few, if any, 37" LEDs around - Samsung certainly don't make any.

But I'd also consider a good 37" LCD like the Samsung 6 series - it's well acclaimed and 100hz as well. And it should be around for a bargain since they're pushing their LEDs so much.
