2.1 Subwoofer Help

Hello All

I've put together a new Cambridge Audio set up with the Azur 651 amp, 651P phono stage and Steam magic 6. They're running bi-wired through my lovely old Mission 731 LE wall mounted speakers and vinyl is courtesy of my Rega Planar 2.

I'm thinking of handing low-end duties over to a sub and was looking for recommendations and advice on set-up.

Budget is about £300. Room is 14ft x 10ft.

I've seen some good write ups on the the Wharfdales and Tannoys but they are from the perspective of home tehatre. I'm looking for one that is gonna handle music well, if indeed there are different criteria. I've never setup a sub before and I've seen bits and pieces online about setting up the crossover point, which I don't understand.

Any help and experiences with the same kinda of set up would be appreciated.
