like the title says does it really make a difference?i have a 40" Sony lcd with Sky HD and watch the football in HD and dont see any problems with the picture, the picture quality is stunning ! i dont see any problems with motion or anything,so if i bought a 100hz set would i tell the difference?is it worth the extra money for a 100hz set?thanks

Well i was wondering the same thing, and what the guy said to me instore is that you only really see the difference on scrolling text and maybe some fast motion, i didnt see any difference to be honest. However if you are looking to upgrade then theres no point why you would get a tv without it.

It really depends upon the tv. Some tvs look WORSE in the 100Hz mode, purely as the software to 'fill in' the gaps inbetween the screen updates arent upto scratch, creating 'ghosting' or 'smearing' effects.

If you think about it - if Sony/Samsung/Whoever thought that 100hz cured 'the problem' , then why are they bringing out 200hz sets ?

And guess what will follow....300, 400 etc. They are obviously driven to this spec. oneupmanship by marketing needs , not just because it makes for better pictures . Also think about all those processing 'features' in your TV that you actually turn off for the same reason.

wouldn't buy a set without it..for sport all the way..

So what is actually the problem when people say LCD cant handle fast moving like sports and movies?
