Hi all

Be patient I'm a Hi-Fidiot.

I've got £200 to upgrade the audio from my PC. At the moment I've just got a very basic Creative Soundblaster 5.1 set up and was thinking of going for Audioengine A5 and a Lindy DAC ( not interested in surround). Will mostly be listening to rock in all its forms ( Simon and Garfunkel to The Fall), Internet radio and doing some editing of mostly speech on Sadie. I know it's entirely subjective but would appreciate any alternative suggestions.

Thanks

A friend has the A5s for full room use, and I am a fan. Have contemplated getting the A2s myself - not that I need them, but think they are great value. Would recommend - and well below your budget.

I ended up buying these for my laptop and PC

Corsair 2.1 desktop speakers

wicked speakers and that sub is huge but well contained, Audioengine are very good, but i actually sent mine back and bought these after the good reviews. I didn't find the A2's partiucalr loud but they are nice sounding speakers. And after all the fathing over the SoundScience Frankenspiel FS1 I decided on these's and haven't looked back.

Shame What HiFi never reviewed them........
