£1000 Onkyo 605 based set-up, advice needed!

I'm upgrading from a Sony HTiB to a seperates set-up based around an Onkyo 605.

After a little research I've listed the Q Acoustics 1010i and Kef 3005 5.1 speaker packages as options.

Are there any other similar priced options I should consider?

What are the best connections to use to connect up the speakers/Onkyo, I've read about banana plugs etc. but am really clueless as to the best options, in fact I believe I read the KEF doesn't even use banama plugs!

Between the two packages, i'd go for the Q Acoustic 1010i - more bang for your buck.
