I don't know if this is it but I have noticed a problem with Wasapi in Foobar erroneously adding in a distorted like sound occasionally. Setting output in Foobar to WASAPI (event) I've heard this many times, like a fuzzyness and weird distorted sound. Switching over to Directsound whist playing...
