The recent update seems to have slowed down mine a lot too.

I believe that the wifi is now integrated and does not require a dongle (interview on the Audioholics Facebook site and the AV Forums article).

Oppo are saying that their new 4K Player will be out towards the end of the year.

I ran a 4.1 system for a while and really missed the centre speaker. Sure it works but as has been mentioned already it really helps with placing the voices into the image.

Have a look at QNap NAS drives as well. They have decent functionality and some have HDMI so that you can connect directly to your TV.

Netflix and Amazon have passed on it as well so I think it is pretty much dead.

This series really isn't as good as the previous two. It's also filmed to be very dark, which when the signal is compressed for the TV channel, means a lot of loss of detail. To be honest, I'm not surprised it got cancelled.

I bought The Complete Star Wars Saga on Blu-ray. There was a lot of rubbish in the sale though.

I set mine to small first and let Audyssey set the crossovers. I have a mixture of speakers so the crossover is set differently for each pair.

I have a dedicated room for my system so I am lucky. It has a tiled floor though so took some taming. I bought Bass Traps from Gik Acoustics for the corners and the back wall, which I don't sit against. They worked really well. Gik offer an advice service and also, I believe, will print pictures...

I use jRiver for both. It's excellent. New version is due soon.

You could put an IEC socket on the remainder of the chewed cable. Then you can use a kettle lead to connect it to the power socket.
