    Yes, it was worth a try and thanks very much. Speakers are about 8 years old, but have not been over used. And yes, this system has always sounded like this.

    I've now tried just running the system, just using the Classic. Ie. Not bi wired an not using the old lk100. But no appreciable difference.

    The speakers are bi-wired. Along with my linn classic I have an old linn kk100 amp. So the classic drives the tweeters and the lk100 drive the larger mid range speakers.

    System sounds flat and now well defined musically.. very little mid range sound. Not dynamic musically across the range. Lacking in clarity and definition. As a new member I would like to hear your comments. Vic
