    JAPANESE VOLTAGE

You can purchase a transformer here https://airlinktransformers.com/category/japan-uk-voltage-converters and it will work absolutely fine. The frequency is irrelevant for an amplifier.

Should i turn off my power amplifier and preamplifier or should i leave them on 24/7??

Turn them off completely. That way they will last longer.

Question Advice for my first tube amplifier

Don't buy a valve (tube) amplifier. They are overpriced and mediocre.

Problem with Yamaha AS-1000, why does it change inputs on its own?

If it doesn't ever happen when there are no lights on in the room it could be related to that. I had a TV that switched channels occasionally whenever a CFL light was switched on.

    B&W or Monitor Audio

Those graphs look pretty good. No audible peaks.

XLR vs. RCA interconnects: is there a difference?

You don't need balanced inputs for the tiny wire lengths used in hifi. There's no sound quality differences.

Question Rookie choice - rank these amps!

You could compare them if someone had tested them, but not otherwise. You can only go by the specs.

    Vinyl vs digital

Even budget amps these days have flat responses and inaudible levels of distortion if used under the maximum power. The McIntosh isn't going to sound better.

Question Improve my Sound on my Fronts in Stereo mode

If you don't like the sound change the speakers. It's as simple as that.

    New amp for B&W 603 s2 anniversary?

I wouldn't change the amp at all. That won't change the bass. Just add a sub, something like the excellent BK XXLS400.

    Dynaudio and Nordost Blue Heaven

What if you get wood speakers. Do they sound woody?

    A Shibata bargain

I find that AT microline stylii sound and track the best. Wasn't impressed by the shibata, although it did beat elliptical.

First a vinyl revival, now a cassette comeback..

No. But you can make good recordings on it. Not quite as good as a digital set up though.

    Question RCA interconnect

More expensive interconnects = higher profits all round. Sound quality is unaffected.

    Valve cd players

Valves are something we used to use before the transistor was invented. Using them now is like going back to driving a horse and cart and claiming it's better.
