    Rotel Michi P5 pre-amp

I bet it does! Thanks for the advice on the use of subwoofers. The way you describe it is exactly what I'm looking for. I've struggled to find good bass management in pre-amps as it seems to be an afterthought at best in most of them. At the risk of derailing my own thread, perhaps the Anthem...

    Rotel Michi P5 pre-amp

I have Dynaudio Xeo 6 active speakers, which I'm very happy with for now. I bought them second hand as an experiment to see what they were like, as the idea of actives appealed to me. I haven't regretted it. I don't have a subwoofer yet so I'm open to what model, perhaps REL. I've been driving...

    Rotel Michi P5 pre-amp

Thanks, I'll certainly have a look at the Anthem STR. I agree that a sub is important and I would want to have it properly implemented at the £3k+ price level. I suppose with the Michi P5, if it doesn't have any low/high filtering you could set up the low pass in the sub itself, but that means...

    Rotel Michi P5 pre-amp

This pre-amp looks very interesting and is highly praised, also having just won the 2020-21 Eisa award for best product in the high end pre-amp/ power amp category. Does anyone own one? I would want to use a sub with it, and although it has two sub outputs there's no mention in the manual of...

Marantz Nr1200 Amp / Speaker upgrade

I think the NR1200 and Dali is a good match. I own the NR1200 and during my research I auditioned it with both the Oberon 5 and Opticon 5. Both sounded great but I actually found the Oberon 5 to be better sounding, even though it's a lot cheaper. I guess it's all in the matching. If possible...

    Marantz NR1200 first impressions

Interesting. What method do you use to connect it to the TV, and is there any lip sync issue? Also, what codec does it use? Annoyingly, my Sony XM4 BT headphones don't have aptX as they now use their proprietary codec (LDAC), so I'm not sure if the Mee Audio device would work for me.

Thanks, I'll look into that. I've not heard of it before.

I'm glad it's not just me who has problems with the Bluetooth out. I do exactly the same as you. The only thing I use the Bluetooth input for is for streaming an internet radio app from my phone to the Marantz, now that the HEOS Tunein app has been severely compromised.

Good question. I don't know for sure but I would imagine that a faster codec with more bandwidth and less latency would require an upgrade to the transmitter hardware.

    Marantz NR1200 first impressions

I'm glad the NR1200 works well with the Wharfdales. When I was demo'ing passive speakers I found it to be a good match for Dali speakers, especially the Oberon 5. Yes, having an antiquated Bluetooth codec doesn't help the latency issue. I could buy an external Bluetooth transmitter such as the...

    Marantz NR1200 first impressions

Hi, habu77, I am also very impressed with this receiver, which I've had for a few months. I originally bought it with the intention of adding traditional passive speakers, but then got into the idea of active speakers. Although I would consider myself an audiophile in the sense that I...
