    KEF LS50 disappointment :(

The problem that I am having with the NAD is that from what I understand you need reach the back of the amp to switch between the DAC and the phono.

    KEF LS50 disappointment :(

So, I am interested in keeping the experiment going at home. I have been playing the LS50 with the D 3020 over the past few days. Sounds is good, but I want to see if it can be improved with more power. The amps that I am currently interested in testing (the ones that seems to fit my needs)...

    KEF LS50 disappointment :(

Thanks for the feedback and review. I noticed that stands made a difference to me too. After spending more time in the store listening to more amps, I am of the opinion that switching integrated would not make much of a diffrence. I doubt that the NAD D 3020 will sound any different than the...

    KEF LS50 disappointment :(

Today I heard few integrated amps powering some Martin Logan Theos speakers. I wish I could have used the KEF, but they didn't carry it, neither was I able to bring my own to the store. With that being said, I heard the Bel Canto C5i, NAD D3020, Arcam A19 and SimAudio Moon 340i. The NAD D3020...

    KEF LS50 disappointment :(

For the record there are two of us who have expressed dissapointment with the ls50. While I am not the original OP, I'm the one that is sitting close to them. I did try the bungs and various placement, I believe the current placement is best so far. Again, just to be clear, I am not saying...

    KEF LS50 disappointment :(

Quick update: I got the isoAccoustic stands today, and there seems to be some improvement in bass control. I am also spending more listening time with the speakers. Some songs clearly sound better than the others. Simon and Garfunkel sounds swell, Adele and Tracy Chapman sounds good. I say...

    KEF LS50 disappointment :(

I tend to agree, if it was lack of bass that troubled me, a sub might have been a valid fix. However it is lack of clarity and engagement that I am going after, so I actually expect that sub will make things worse.

    KEF LS50 disappointment :(

I actualy can see myself trying a sub as a way to improve sound. One of the benefit of the D 3020 is that it has a sub out. Also, I believe that given that it's a power DAC than it should be very efficient with lower impedance. I am not sure if the BelCanto has sub out, but it does have a phono...

    KEF LS50 disappointment :(

Ok, I understand that we're dealing with something very subjective, and while we all enjoy the sharing of opinion, I'd interesting in increasing my understanding of what affects sounds quality. From my understanding, these are the factors that affect sound (not in order): 1. Source /...

    KEF LS50 disappointment :(

That's very encouraging! the downsides which you highlighted are not of interest. I leave in an apartment building, and I can't play loud even if my wife and baby would allow my to. :) On the other hand, small space, no heat, and wifi streaming are way more important. All that I need is to know...

    KEF LS50 disappointment :(

I'd love to hear more about your experience. At one point I was considering the Parasound P5/A23, but I am much more into form factor that can fit a desktop setting. Can you explain what you mean about "it's not going to give me everything a big rig woud"? Do you feel that the speakers are...

    KEF LS50 disappointment :(

Indeed the 390DD is interesting. Esp since you can add an analog inputs. As you said it's very expensive, and it doesn't have headphone input, I'll keep you posted with my findings.

    KEF LS50 disappointment :(

When looking on Amazon reviews of the D3020, there's a person saying that he's been using it to drive the KEF LS50 and that he was very happy with the results. I would't bet on the NAD for its specs, but given that few have already said that it's a good combo, I fitured that it's worth the try...

    KEF LS50 disappointment :(

Maybe you are right, and in the end it's the ears that matter. I remember reading LS50 review from a guy that owns the Harbeth 40.1 - After reading it, I couldn't wait to listen to the LS50 myself. I am going to try it out with a more powerful amp, and if doesn't make things better, than I'll...

I am sure that there are other options, but the ones that I mentioned are available for risk free home trial.
