Bought it from Richer Sounds last week, Video HDMI out direct to my LG OLED 55E6V and audio out direct to my reciever. Absolutely blown away by the picture quality...it's like looking out of a window. HDR makes so much of a difference too

Seems odd as there are so few 4K dvd players on the market

Finally saved enough for the new LG OLED Ultra HD 55" Flatscreen, is this the best there is at the moment? Is it worth waiting for Panasonic's equivalent. Not interested in curved panel though.

Thanks guys but the reciever isn't 4K compatable so is it just a case of re-wiring it? I have SKY+ HD, Denon Blu-Ray player and Playstation connected to the reciever all by HDMI connections

I'm about to buy the new LG 4K OLED TV, I have everything connected to a Pioneer VSX LX55 Reciever, will I need to buy a new reciever as it's a 4K TV? Thanks

Hi, bought one 3 weeks ago and hugely impressed, I had a Pioneer BDP LX08 which had given up playing new disks. The Denon loads incredibly fast.....literally around 4 seconds. Got it hooked up to a Pioneer VSX LX55 into the Samsung UE55ES8000 and the picture is jaw droppingly good.... far better...

I auditioned both before buying the Samsung UE55ES8000, I previously owned the Pioneer PDP LX-5090. Found the Samsung to have far better motion handling and the deepest black levels. Hooked up to a high end blu-ray player this TV is the best out there (ay least untill the OLED's are released).

On the whole this a fantastic panel, easy set up.....and does it need it as the out of the box settings are awful. Only problem I've noticed is really bad strobing but only on the occasional broadcast on Sky HD. It's particularly bad on clothing and hair strangely. Is this an inherant problem...

Pionner are just so slow at firmware updates....nearly all new Blu-Ray disks won't load. Pioneer sugested maybe it was my player, yet it loads ALL my older disks no problem. To fix the problem they sugest I mail them the disks that won't play...not very helpful.

though you'll be lucky if you ever get it, after half a dozen emails i'm still waiting for mine!

Thanks Distorted vision...I've just emailed Martin Dawes and await a reply. I have contents insurance but alas not for acciedental damage. I think Trading Standards are my next option, though I don't know if they can help as AM are based in Denmark. Really appreciate the input though! Tim
