I got rid of an EVO150 for another NAIM NAIT50.
They are chalk and cheese in functionality and the wee NAIT outstrips every amp I demoed over a 2 year period due to its stripped back simplicity
With what looks like an imminent dearth of NAIM integrateds in the near future (Naim buyout impending), nice to see th3 wee NN50 already increasing in price……
The PMC Prodigy 5 are slowly becoming one of my preferred speakers at home… They ooze musicality, but need careful placement in the room. They do exhibit powerful bass nodes.
Phenomenal sound staging with the EXA100 driving.
I’m listening to Jim Hall now on that system.
I’m not really sure what you’re saying @gasolin but my EXA100 has full grip,of my PMCs and for the quality of presentation is an incredibly good value solution.
I’d guess the A15 would present similarly to the EXA100
I’m listening to my snug system at the moment…
EXA100 EXN100 PMC Prodigy 5……
There is an argument that anything better than this is going to cost many times the price…
The Prodigy 5 are an exceptional speaker in the right room.
My listening area in the snug is about a 2m equilateral in a room of...
indeed; not a good look for LEEMA at all ! esp. considering they're releasing new products this year too ! puts you off reading things like this.
look at REGA and NAIM. no questions, no issues.
there is no real "correct" answer.
to get strong low level performance, thee amplifier ideally needs to provide good "grip"; thee ability to drive the speaker hard. in order to achieve, the transformer and output stages should offer high current and high power transients.
the more you spend...
DB1R look nice but blooming rear porting and probably not as good as the AlChris TX1!
ProAC also seem to have a thin dealer network up here in the Tundra (accepting ALCHRIS have NO dealer network 😀)…..
EQ is solving a problem that exists because either your source, your amplification or your transducer is poorly matched to environment and/or listening preference. It will always degrade the source signal.
Rear ported speakers an absolute no no for me consequent to my inability to position them 2m in free space.
I recently heard the new DALI RUBIKORE in a demo room, totally in free space. They were simply superb. A genuinely beautiful speaker in all senses……I requested they be positioned to the...
Ribbon tweeters and metal domed tweeters can be too sibilant even mated to great mid and bass drivers I have found…
The trade off is that ribbon AMT sweetness airiness versus wider dispersal which some prefer….i find that top end sweetness difficult to digest. Probably my age and my hearing…...
