    Do you mean that if I connect the HDMI eARC out from the tv to the HDMI eARC out on the AV receiver the video and audio will go both ways. That sounds a little too good if you don't mind me saying...

    Hi. I would like to know if there's any way I can transfer Dolby Atmos from the tv to the AV receiver. Tvs only have Toslink out and that doesn't work. Then the eARC out on the receiver doesn't work but that's another story...

    The early 2-channel systems were not stereo, only 2 channels. Soon we got 2-channel and even 4-channel stereo. Later we got 5.1 channels stereo and more. Stereo is space, regardless of the number of channels. Subs are not channels and don't enter into it.
