    We need your user reviews!

Might help if the site was easier to use. I can't be bothered to wait for the page load times, the homepage is such a mess, as are most pages, that I don't visit them anymore. The forum layout is a bit better though but still have to wait 10+ second to see active topics - sorry to sound negative...

    Arcam A28

I haven't heard the A28 but have owned an Arcam Alpha 9 for 15+ years. I'v always had the amp driving Acoustic Energy speakers but had the opportunity last year to listen to it driving some Monitor Audio speakers and although the MA's had a £300 cheaper list price than the AE's, the synergy...

PC or CD Player or DVD Player or Blu Ray Player?

I would buy a dedicated CD player. There is much more to a cd player than the disc mech and DAC as some here seem to suggest. Get the best you can and you will be rewarded.

    Welcome to the new whathifi.com!

You only have a moment to capture the attention of a user landing on your homepage. If they don't like it for whatever reason or can't find the information they're looking for almost instantly they will move on, it's not like there isn't a wealth of resources out there already. I think it's a...

who ever thought to rebuild this site for their gcse project has failed

Totally agree. The point I was making was that internet forums have been around for ages and many of the inherent design/ux problems have been resolved over time. So why not follow these proven design principles, principles that have taken things forward into good usable experiences. I don't...

who ever thought to rebuild this site for their gcse project has failed

Red Cafe seem to have got it right. It may look a bit old fashion but proven design principles make this site very simple to use. I'm not saying it's perfect but it's very simple and useable. The last iteration of the what hi-fi forums were also good. A few missing features and a little slow at...

who ever thought to rebuild this site for their gcse project has failed

The danger here is that WHF could ignore the criticisms as 'people just having a moan because it's new' and miss the point that it is actually terrible. Have just managed to view the home page (on safari as I didn't want to clear the cache on firefox) - This is probably the worst example of a...

    Welcome to the new whathifi.com!

i'v been using the site for a few hours now. some of the new features are good, the site needed a kick into the modern era. However the user exprerience and visual design are terrible - who signed this off??. The last site had a certain class about the way it looked and although it was a bit...

I know a lot of work probably went into this but it looks awful. Everything is everywhere, sorry but it's a mess. Page loading times between 5 and 11 seconds!!
