I can't stand my Denon AVR anymore. What to replace it with?

Where are Sony products made now? I always had Sony stuff up until recently and I thought it used to be made in Japan. But aren't all these manufacturers' products just made as cheaply as possible in Vietnam, Taiwan and China now? My uncle lived in Tokyo back in the late 70s through mid 80s...

Do you think4k blu-ray be the last physical media films and TV shows come on?

I think it will be the last physical format. Big money in the film industry seems like they want to move to streaming over a disc. They can have smaller production budgets vs big blockbuster films and it helps them cut down on piracy. Plus you really can't get much cheaper than DVD and...

Sound bars best with film recorded in 5.1

I will admit I have not heard the Samsung one. I tore out my Roku one because it just can't handle the volume. If I turn it up to about 25, it is good and loud but the speakers start popping. The stereo receiver I have hooked up now can handle the volume and sounds better imo than that Roku...

Sound bars best with film recorded in 5.1

Is there a reason you do not want a 5.1 receiver and speakers? I currently have a Roku "surround" system. It does okay for what it is, I didn't pay much for it. But having heard my friend's receiver and 3.1 system, I think I would rather go this route. With Blu-ray discs, it sounds much better.

I watched a 4K Blu-ray for the first time in years – and was left disappointed

Hello all, I thought I'd jump in and comment. Here's my two cents on 4K Blu-ray. For me, I just don't think it's worth it. I have a relatively inexpensive Samsung 65" 4K Crystal LED TV. I got this one because the room I am in has a lot of ambient light and so an OLED just wouldn't look that...
